The Belgian military network Bemilcom is not so secret

Bemilcom is a so called secret military communication network that links military bases and police and other services in Belgium. It seems to be used to threaten a police-officer some years ago (De Vleeschauwer)  that has been killed because he was investigating some business he shouldn't. Since more than 12 years the case has never been solved, neither fully investigated.

What is strange is that the caller of the telephone has never been identified because it was from this network. Now, maybe get some things clear. This is a seperate telecommunication network that has a higher resilience and security than the normal network, but its main objective is resilience not secrecy. There is a difference between being secure and being secret. One can be secure without being secret. Someone should know who uses the network.

And the Bemilcom network is not really secret. The numbers can be found here and even people publish on the net their bemilcom number as does the mil.be website itself and many other sites. If you are looking for technical information about the network, you can find some here. And from this CV of one possible Alcatel Civil engineer (now you know the switches they use) who ware responsable for making this network EMP resistant you know you can hire ex-insiders.

And here you will find some pix of their infrastructure and the very strange information that some other telecommunication companies may also use their infrastructure. And the concentration of risk is even higher because also the ASTRID communication network of the Police uses these towers. (search Bemilcom in the text)

and you can even find technical inside information and problems about military installations/projects because military engineers publish these on the internet under their full name and contacts. Is this wise ? But you can find more here. You also know more that they have an infrastructure of 2 MB lines

Another thing of interest is to know which companies are responsable for the maintenance or installed the infrastructure. This is not secret Even more because the maintenance contracts are indefinitive. (search Bemilcom in the text)

But even better if you would like a plan of a military school with all the telephone numbers and hours and how things are organised you can look here.
