It is remarkable that 4 out of the 10 free firewalls are Free although one you should look at the conditions which may not be the same and secondly I am not sure that the chinese website (even if the software is english) will make it netchina popular. The other problem with Netchina may be that you maybe would have not enough confidence to use something chinese for something as important as a Firewall that controls and makes access to your computer or network..... Nothing racist or paranoid, just with all the backdoors that are being found in chinese made routers ....

The problem is that some of the tests are already dated and that the firewall you are using is maybe already upgraded and would be in the top10 now and some of these in the top10 would be downgraded. Attacks also change all the time, so it all depends if some of these free firewalls can keep up with these ever changing threats.

You should also remember that those tests are only one test among hundreds of others - even if they have some credibility in the community. It also depends on the use of the internet you have and that may not be as dangerous or complicated in your case. The last thing to take into account is that version change all the time and are upgraded - which is why these kind of tests are very good.

The ultimate list is here

If you want my advice look at Comodoro and PCtools and combine the free tools or the two websites dependent on the securitylevel you want to install and you are comfortable working with. I wouldn't feel comfortable with Comorodo alone in its free edition.
