skynet worm infection : an update
security analysts ask me to mention this LOUD and clearly
For the moment it seems (based on this and other information) that part of the network of Skynet is infected with the new worm and that the worm is being used to build up a huge new botnet. This explains maybe that we have seen a second botnet controller being installed on the Belgian network that probably is linked to the scanning and attacktraffic that is being seen now.
If skynet doesn't take this seriously and take appropriate action it will find itself with important parts of its network being controlled by botnets and out of control. If one lets a botnet grow without ones network than at a certain point you will lose control over all or important parts of your network.
Why not give a free securitypackage to your users as was written in the law. It is christmas anyway. And it would be a good business deal. You get a more stable and secure network and the clients will be happy and will trust more your online deals and businesses. And based on the number of users the price for each client would be peanuts. Especially for the price you ask for the internetconnection..... and you would force the others ISP's to do the same thing :) GO AHEAD, do both, clean up your network that is being infected and come out of it as the most secure network in Belgium.
If anybody has more information about these attack levels, we will welcome that.....
