will our medical info be transferred to the Electronic EID

Or the Journalist is wrong or someone is telling too much. Because in the article it is mentioned that the doctor the necessary medical information to conclude that the cardholder (who couldn't be pregnant because of an operation) couldn't be the person before him.
It hasn't been made very clear and WITHOUT ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER that when in 2011 the SIS (social security card) is abadoned the medical information won't be transferred also.
We don't believe the middleware and some other aspects of the EID are safe enough to have also medical information.
Why not your credit card info while you are it
And for those who think that with EID there will be no identity theft, just this number. Around 300.000 Social security cards are Lost or stolen each YEAR. I hope they will have a system in place that will treat all those lost EID in sufficient numbers and at internetspeed.

even toelichten op de e-id kaart komt geen medische informatie volgens mij (de thans nieuwe kaart moet nog mee van 2009-2014 of zoiets), de zorgverlener zal met toelating van de patient echter wel zijn verzekerbaarheidssituatie kunnen opvragen dmv de patient zijn e-id kaart als basis, deze verzekerbaarheidssituatie geeft gewoon aan onder welk statuut je bij een ziekenfonds gekend bent, niet meer en niet minder, als hij obv het inschrijvingsnummer in de sociale zekerheid meer info wil bekomen, kan dit uit andere databanken komen, maar binnen een strak juridisch kader, wordt vervolgd, ten slotte: identiteitsdiefstal is in belgie heus niet zo simpel als in - op dat vlak - veel minder ontwikkelde landen als de verenigde staten of het verenigd koninkrijk
